Cyprus plans to begin LNG exports by 2019, Financial Mirror reported. Speaking at the Economist Conference in Nicosia, Cypriot Minister of Commerce, Nicos Sylikiotis, said the state will have a strategic role in the operation of the terminal. The ambitious time table comes after the discovery of the Aphrodite gas field offshore. The field has a gross mean gas reserve of some 7 tcf.
