EDF Group commences construction of Dunkirk LNG terminal

EDF Group has commenced construction of the Dunkirk LNG terminal in France, Comtex News Network reported. The plant is expected online towards the end of 2015. The terminal will be able to accommodate large tankers and have a capacity of some 13 billion cubic meters of gas per year, the equivalent of 20 percent of the annual natural gas demand of France and Belgium combined. Work will begin on three components: platform and marine infrastructure; the LNG terminal and connection facilities to French and Belgian networks; and the construction of three LNG storage tanks.
