DEVELOPING WORLD BIOETHICS IS TURNING 10!

The next issue of the journal signifies the le year of our existence. In many ways that is exciting news. Only a minority of start-up journals survive the first few years of their fledgling existence. Usually, getting sufficient 'copy', that is, submissions that are publishable, is one of the major problems new journals face. Developing World Bioe-thics never faced this problem. From day one we filled an important niche in the academic bioethics market, so to speak. Quality contributions were received both from developed, as well as developing world based authors. In fact, our rejection rate (naively taken by many research-ers and academics as an indicator of quality) has increased over the years. There can be no doubt that bioethics as it pertains to resource-poor countries is now firmly established as an important item on the interna-tional bioethics research agenda. This journal has done its fair share to ensure this.
