Letter regarding 'electrosurgery and implantable electronic devices: Review and implications for office-based procedures'
The authors of this review article elegantly summarize the potential interference of office-based electrosurgical equipment with commonly encountered implantable electronic devices (IED) and offer recommendations to prevent complications and injury to the ever-increasing patient population with these devices. Undoubtedly, this review will better equip not only dermatologists, but also the myriad other health care practitioners who use electrosurgical equipment to achieve hemostasis in office-based procedures.
