Use of biologic dressing as a temporary wound dressing in reconstruction of a significant forehead Mohs defect.

In the first stage of reconstruction, Integra was applied to the forehead defect (Figure 2). This was performed under a general anesthetic, with the wound bed being prepared with thorough wound toilet. In addition, the central area of the frontal bone, whose periosteum had been excised in the resection, was burred, exposing diploe. The Integra was secured with staples to the surrounding skin and a dressing of soaked betadine gauze and foam was applied.
