Hyperhidrosis can be defined-as a disease characterized by perspiration in excess of the amount necessary to maintain physiologic thermal homeostasis.l The two main categories of hyperhidrosis are primary or idiopathic and secondary, where the patients can either have excessive sweating in a localized area (focal hyperhidrosis) or over their entire body (generalized hyperhidrosis).
