These were the cheering words with which Roy 'Robin' Lewis III opened a week-long mangrove restoration conference, held at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. And just to make sure we'd got the good news, Robin quoted some of his previous research on tropical coastline ecosystems: 'Most mangrove projects fail completely or rarely achieve their stated restoration goals.'
