Some farmers never cease to amaze me about the business acumen (or lack of it) they have when deciding where to sell their milk. One particular example which caught my eye recently was the case of one of the 84 dairy farmers who were caught in the collapse of Farmright. Having worked hard, to wake up and find you have delivered up to eight weeks of milk for absolutely no return is sobering. It should make everyone scrutinise their milk purchaser/processor for 'longevity', and to assess them for being a financially sound business and the degree to which they are re-investing in their facilities on a regular basis as opposed to sticking plasters on problems.
