The cows have settled down to being in all the time. I think they're relieved not to have to walk up a stony track and through the muddy gateways anymore. They seem quite happy to be able to lie in the loose housing and haven't looked to go out With the maize in their diet, the dung is certainly a lot firmer and it doesn't get as messy in their strawed area. The milk dropped by a couple of litres a cow per day when they first came in, but after a bit of fluctuation, they've now settled down Milk protein started to drop by the time they were on their last few days of being outside, but has started to pick up again now they're on full winter rations.
