Martin and his wife Debbie moved from Derbyshire to La Vieille GOUT, Loire-Atlantique, France, in 1990. They farm 50ha and run 28 French Prim Holsteins. We first heard the cuckoo on April 2 and two days later the swallows arrived, so one would imagine that spring is here The only thing missing is rain. Since the 85mm in early February, we have had nothing, not a drop and, unless we get rain before the end of April, our grass will be as grey as a badgers arse.
