Ciaran and his wife Sarah emigrated to New Zealand two years ago. After a year working on a dairy unit, he has now taken his first step up the sharemilking ladder and is contract milking a 360-cow Jersey herd at Ngatea on the North Island. I hope youall have a successful year in 1997 and that you stick to all those resolutions. As I write, the local town of Thames is mopping up after Cyclone Drena came to town. We were ravaged by Fergie (Cyclone Fergus) just before New Year's Eve, with heavy winds giving everything a good shake up. We escaped most of the rain, but the North of the country and parts of the beautiful Coromandel peninsula suffered heavy flooding.
