Molecular metallocycles, acyclic metallodimers and 2D coordinationpolymers containing the twisted ligand bis(pyrimidin-2-ylthio)methane

摘要

The versatile coordination chemistry of bis(pyrimidin-2-ylthio)methane (bptm) allows the synthesis ofa series of different metal complexes with diverse structures. We describe here the synthesis andstructural characterization of three kinds of compounds: four cyclic dimers, [Co_2Cl_4(bptm)_2] (1),[Zn_2I_4(bptm)_2] (2), [Cd2I4(bptm)_2] (3), [Cu2(NO_3)_4(bptna)_2] (4);two acyclic dimers, [Cu_2Br_4(bptm)_3] (5),[Cu2(AcO)_4(bptm)_2] (6); and two 2D coordination polymers, [CuBr(bptm)] (7) and [CuI(bptm)] (8).Different structural models are obtained on making small changes in the building units under differentsynthetic conditions. The effects of the weak interactions in the crystal packing were also analyzed
