Determination of required properties of steels and welded joints for Bratislava 'Kosicka' bridge

摘要

Requirements for design of bridge steel structure and materials from the viewpoint of fatigue and brittle failure resistance, requirements of STN 73 1401:1998 and EN standards as well as special requirements according to tender documentation are described. Determination of required toughness of steels and weld metals by fracture mechanics approaches, required KV_R impact energy for fabrication quality inspection, selection of welding consumables and determination of preheat temperature in welding as well as general requirements on design of bridge details are outlined.
