EIA Expects U.S. Gas Production To Decline Next Year

New York (Reuters) - The U.S. Energy Information Administration on Tuesday raised its estimate for U.S. natural gas production in 2009 but said declining well productivity and the steep pull back in drilling should result in sharply lower output next year.In its October Short-Term Energy Outlook, EIA said it expected marketed natural gas production to be up 1.5% in 2009, primarily due to strong first-half output, then decline by 3.8% in 2010.
