Any conversation to do with goats often turns to fencing. "How do you keep them in?" is probably the most frequently asked question among goat farmers. I imagine that most goats see fencing as a mere suggestion, and I am quite sure they laugh at someof our feeble attempts at containment. For those on small-acreage farms, the budget doesn't stretch as far as desired and corners must be cut where possible. However, fencing is not the place to do so, for poor fencing leads to strained relationships between neighbors, family members, and farmers and their goats as well. Taking the time to consider quality and economics and choosing a preferred path for each situation can help all those involved get along more agreeably.
