An application of chromatic processing for interpreting data from a mass spectrometer

Chromatic-based algorithms are used to process data taken from a mass spectrometer sampling SF6 gas, which has been subjected to high-current electrical discharges. The chromatic values are put on to a polar diagram representing an information plane. The technique demonstrates the benefits of this method for monitoring applications and shows clearly how the data is interpreted in the chromatic domain. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd.
