To most ex-Zimbabwean farmers, Mozambique might not be the Promised Land or that of milk and honey. But at least it is the land of bread and sugar, diesel and spare parts, not to mention friendly people, peri-peri chicken and, hopefully, some Greenbacks. While many modern pioneers here claim to be more acquainted with the country's frustrations, most will admit to some experience of its virtues. All concede more than a few redeeming features -- like a government and people that generally are very welcoming and supportive; the chance to farm and be a farmer, unhindered; and not forgetting, a quite respectable social life.
