摘要

This work aims at the quantification of emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and ammonia (NH3) from meat production with suckler cow herds in order to discern reduction potentials, from the point of view of animal owners. Emissions of GHG and NH3 of an example herd of 100 suckler cows (German Beef Simmental) and their offspring are examined with respect to variable useful lifespan and pregnancy rates of the suckler cows as well as different loss rates for both suckler cows and their offspring. In addition, fattening on pasture is compared to stall-feeding of the offspring.
