A US West Coast consulting engineer estimated that over 50% of all US refineries are using oil mist.Oil-mist lubrication is a key part of an API-based maintenance program at many refineries,and pump mean-times-between-failures (MTBFs) of four to six years are being routinely achieved.MTBFs as high as 8.6 yr are on record at some of the more exceptional refineries.
