Package waste recycling to double in the EU

An agreement reached by the European Parliament and Council conciliation committee will increase the minimum recycling targets for packaging waste from2 5% to 55% by 2008.The recent agreement is an update of the 1994 Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive and resolves two long-standing issues:Whether incineration of packaging waste should be considered a recovery operation.
