Industry is the number one power consumer, yet, as a whole, it has a remarkably poor sense of how much power is being used at different times across manufacturing processes. In the HPI, many potential cost-saving opportunities related to power and energy consumption are ignored simply because people in refineries and petrochemical plants don't have the appropriate visibility or control.
