The world needs a plan to safeguard the future of these vital economic building blocks. We need a productivity revolution. At Honeywell, we do not use the term "revolution" lightly. Historically, there have been only a few technological revolutions that had a major impact on the world. Arguably, the most important was the industrial revolution; it transformed the world from hand production to machines that could do work faster and more consistently. More recently, the digital revolution changed the world, with computers making huge improvements in a similar way that the steam engine replaced manual labor.
