Notcutts' nursery operation management buy-out in August is the mostvisible result of a strategic operationalreview the company has undertakenover the past year. Further changes are now plannedthat managing director William Notcuttand chief executive Nick Kirkbride hopewill help the company become a "greatgarden centre retailer". But Kirkbride, who joined the Suffolkbased company a year ago to carry outthe review, admits that "there is stillplenty to do" to achieve that goal. Hehad intended moving to Suffolk tocontinue the process but a change in hisfamily's circumstances means hewill leave the company later this year. Asuccessor is being sought to overseethe next steps.
