The new football season has seen a reignition of the debate on natural versus artificial turf. While the Football Association remains set against synthetic turf in England, two senior Scottish clubs, Stenhousemuir and Hamilton Academical, now play onartificial pitches. Stenhousemuir unveiled its new FIFA Two Star pitch in July. Club secretary Margaret Kilpatrick says: "As well as the pitch being easier to maintain, we wanted something that the youth team and the wider community could use, too. We have just had our first home game on it and have had no complaints."
