Present determination methods of complex workability characteristic of drawing sheets

Possibilities of evaluation drawability of modern materials for drawing have been presented. It was found that the traditional approach to sheet evaluation on the basis of results of basic and technological tests is unsufficient particularly in cases where precise details of characteristics of local deformation distribution and the mode of sheet flow while forming is essential. In these cases the application of automatic analysis techniques of co-ordination nets picture is necessary. However if it is not possible since it concerns a newly designed drawpiece, a computer simulation of forming process should be used. The sample of drawpiece made of tailored blanks with a laser weld was used for presenting how the traditional methods of drawability tests can be complemented by numerical analysis of drawability process.
