Multi-level conference rooms/A modular approach

The interior concept of this cube-shaped building is based on the interaction between the interior and exterior volumes. Inside the facade of the building, the arrangement of massive components and cubes is informal, and they are sometimes stacked vertically. The cubes themselves contain functional areas such as halls and conference rooms. The spatial sequences between the facade and the main volumes in the body of the building provide access and communication. Because the foyers are arranged over four levels, events may be held in the halls simultaneously. The foyers are served by movable bar and cloakroom areas. Artists and performers reach the halls from the dressing rooms via a rear internal staircase. There is a kitchen on the ground floor, while storage and technical areas are located in the basement together with an underground car park. The building is structured around a basic grid with individual elements measuring 127.5cm across, 113cm in length and 300cm in height. All partition units conform to this grid and project it outwards. The vertical facade comprises joined T-shaped steel posts.
