In terms of hydrogen storage, complex hydrides are acollection of materials that have shown promise as efficienthydrogen storage materials. However, complex metalhydrides, which are known to store a large amount ofhydrogen are held by strong bonds and due to this, it isdifficult to desorb hydrogen at ambient temperatures andpressures. Complex hydrides are not reversible andremoving hydrogen from them is difficult at temperaturesless than 100 degrees C, and due to this, catalysts arerequired to improve the reaction rates. Despite the manyattempts by previous researchers, there are currently nohydrogen storage materials that meet industry requirements.
