摘要

Phase change materials (PCMs) are compounds that liquefy and solidify at specific temperatures. During the process of liquefying and solidifying within a set temperature range, heat is absorbed or released when the material changes from solid to liquid and vice versa. This means that PCMs are capable of storing and releasing large amounts of energy. The absorption, storage, and release of latent energy help to regulate a product's or structure's temperature, thus PCMs' main role is as temperature-regulating materials.
