摘要

The effect of post weld heat treatment parameters on the mechanical and metallographic properties of SA 213 T23 steel tube butt weld joints have been studied. These tubes are intended for use in evaporator, reheater and super heater tubes of power boilers. In this work, different parameter levels have been selected and welding trials have been conducted by GTAW process for tube butt welds. Investigation of the samples have been made by optical microscopy, micro hardness testing and impact testing in both as-welded and post weld heat treated conditions. The paper presents the investigation results with regard to observations of mechanical and metallurgical properties of the SA 213 T23 weldments, resulting from different PWHT parameters such as soaking temperature and soaking time.
