Gneenhouse on a Balcony

The challenge was to find a place for a greenhouse on our property — a 1920 rowhouse, 22 1/2 feet wide, The backyard is perhaps 50 feet deep from the edge of the deck to the fence on the alley, with a large corner occupied by a one-car garage, Muchof the property is shaded year-round by my neighbor's enormous American holly tree. The solution, years in coming, was a straight-eave lean-to greenhouse constructed on a four-foot deep east-facing balcony stretching 20-plus feet across the rear of thesecond floor.
