New Innovations and New Approaches to Old Ones. The Priority Mail box has just been packed up with the 17 applications we received for the 2005 Arts & Crafts at ABS Award competition. Soon it will go to the three ABS jurors...boy, do they have a difficult time ahead of them. Some applications included one sheet of paper and a single photograph, others had CD's and newspaper articles about the applicant's previous contributions to bamboo, still others were professional portfolios evidencing a long commitment to bamboo. Applications came to us from China, the Philippines, and Indonesia this year, as well. The common element throughout - bamboo, of course.
