The invention relates to a method for manufacturing structural members containing bamboo, in particular bamboo bonded plates used for furniture and internal structures, and structural members made of bamboo which are produced from layer configuration, produced by this method, as per Form I and Form II and a combination thereof. In said method, relatively thin bamboo stem strips with a cross-section in the shape of circular segments and each having an outer and inner wall are sawn and/or planed, are arranged substantially parallel to each other and bonded to form at least one layer forming the structural member. The object of the invention is to develop the method so that relatively large plates which have jointless surfaces, no warp and are flat on both sides can be attained. Such plates are suitable for producing high-quality products such as furniture, ceiling panels and decorations for interior improvement and are also aesthetically attractive. The object is attained in that the individual bamboo strips are provided with tangential cut surfaces (3a, 5a) substantially in the plane of the outer and the inner wall, and bending stress occurs which forms in each bamboo strip oriented in each case towards the tangential cut surfaces thereof associated with the inner wall. The bamboo strips are each oriented alternately with respect to the bending stresses in each bamboo strip and bonded parallel to each other in such a manner that the bending stresses of adjacent bamboo strips respectively compensate for each other and at least one flat layer (2) is formed.
