Using catalyst-free malleable polyimine networks as binders, researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder in the USA have produced carbon fibre-reinforced plastics (CFRPs) that can be recycled completely. Recycling these CFRPs simply requires soaking them in an organic solution at room temperature, which enables the recovery of 100% of the imine components and the carbon fibres in their original form.
