Females come to the fore at the Three Counties Show

Experienced Hereford Breed stalwart Mr Bob Borwick of Mara Herefords presided over a large turnout of Herefords with over 70 on parade at a very wet Show. The Three Counties Show had a record entry of cattle coming from almost all UK Beef Breeds, withsome holding their National Shows as part of the event. Demand for entry was so strong that a number of potential exhibitors were left disappointed as they were unable to gain entry. The Judge chose two females as his Supreme and Reserve Supreme Champions. Two year old Hawkesbury 1 Precious, from D & E Colledge, Coventry, Warwickshire, who had earlier taken the Senior and Grand Female Championships, took the top honours. This success followed on from last year's Three Counties Show where she was awarded the Junior and Reserve Grand Female Championships. "Precious", who was superbly turned out by Showman Steve Edwards, has an excellent pedigree with her dam, a former Royal Show Supreme Champion in 2007 and Sire, a former Supreme Champion at the National Poll Show in 2010. Reserve Senior Female Champion was Dieulacresse Laura 17th from TA Spooner, Leek, Staffordshire.
