Revised contaminated land software

A revised version of the Environment Agency's (EA) 'contaminated land exposure assessment tool' (CLEA) has been published. The free software tool can be used by those who assess contaminated land to derive: generic soil assessment criteria, using broad assumptions about the characteristics of contaminants and those which are likely to be present on site; site-specific soil assessment criteria for the characteristics of contaminants and those likely to be present on site, or when using a non-generic approach; and specifically, exposure factors for dioxins, furans and dioxin-like PCBs, for deriving site-specific soil assessment criteria using dioxin site-specific worksheets.
