The halo effect

The primary advantages of workplace first aid training are clear: you have an upskilled workforce, you meet compliance needs and you have staff who can potentially save lives in a medical emergency. But, as head of training at St John Ambulance, I've seen at first hand that the benefits often go much further than this. Training also helps to build more cohesive teams, develop workers' confidence and even stem long term productivity losses. The evidence we collect shows that most people (and their employers) get far more out of the training sessions than they expected when they initially stepped into the classroom.
