PRESIDENT'S UPDATE

Before looking forward I'd like to mention the House of Lords Luncheon on 25 September. Again hosted by Lord McKenzie of Luton, I would like to thank Clare Fleming and Perminder Dhillon for doing such a great job organising the event. I was delighted to welcome more than 110 attendees and in particular our overseas visitors who travelled from Saudi Arabia, USA and Nigeria. As well as a fabulous lunch, we enjoyed two excellent presentations from Judith Hackitt, chair of the HSE, and Owen Purcell, of Ernst & Young, whose keynote presentation inspired everyone on how we as practitioners should view the wider role of risk management in our respective organisations.
