Coal importer pays 155k pounds for shovel loader death--Employees had to dodge heavy plant to reach maintenance workshops
COAL importer Hargreaves (UK) Services has been ordered to pay penalties of 155,000 pounds after a large loading shovel ran over a worker at one of its coal processing plants. The HSE prosecuted the firm after maintenance fitter Alan Noddle, an employee of Hargreaves' sister company Norec, suffered fatal injuries in the accident in July 2007 at the site at Immingham Docks on the Humber Estuary.
