摘要

THE HSE has revealed that early fatal injury statistics for 2007-08 show 69 construction workers were killed on sites. That figure suggests a 10 percent fall from the previous year, which saw construction deaths rise sharply to 77 - reversing a downward trend established over 15 years. The figures are unvalidated because the totals for recent months are based on reports of deaths at work that have not been investigated, and might, under investigation, be traced to non-work-related factors. On the other hand, late reports of deaths due to work injuries might push the final figure up.
