Interest in the history of Egypt has lasted for more than 2000 years. In ancient times, the pyramids were included in the Seven Wonders of the World, from which only they have survived to the present day. The Greco-Roman and Arab civilizations, as well as states and peoples of the Near East and Central Africa, which had contact with Egyptians for many centuries, borrowed many elements of Ancient Egypt's culture. This predetermined its epithet, the cradle of civilization.
