摘要

THE COMMUNICATION Workers' Union (CWU) has denounced as "barmy" a proposal by Royal Mail to outsource its first-aid training. Dave Joyce, CWU's health and safety officer, claimed the move would fail to save the Royal Mail money: "This ludicrous outsourcing proposal just isn't cost-effective and a training contractor could charge ?3000 to ?4000 per course - adding anything up to an extra ?1 million a year to annual training costs." Royal Mail told HSW that the service was under review, but that the review was part of a wider evaluation of Royal Mail's operations. "No decision has yet been made and the CWU's comments are pure speculation. We are still committed to Royal Mail's first-aid services and courses," a spokesman said.
