The 75th anniversary of the Lebedev Physical Institute

Reports by the directors of the Lebedev Physical Institute and the Steklov Institute of Mathematics were heard by the RAS Presidium on April 21, 2009. The reports were timed to the 75th anniversaries of these academic institutions that share a common prehistory dating back practically to the foundation of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Today, according to RAS President Academician Yu. S. Osipov, these institutes are not only academic but also national assets.
