Spot Butane, Isobutane Prices Up as NYMEX Crude Nears $70/bbl

With the crude prices hovering above $68/bbl on the New York Mercantile Exchange last week, U.S. Gulf Coast spot prices for aromatics and other products also climbed during the week.Most noticeably, the spot butane price rose about 12%, to around $1.06/gal, while the spot isobutane price increased about 10%, to $1.20/gal. Spot MTBE prices gained about 10%, to around $2.56/gal, and spot benzene prices climbed about 7%, to around $2.46/gal.
