California-based SpectraSensors announced that it has available to refineries a tunable diode laser-based analyzer that can detect moisture and other impurities in feedstock and fuel gas streams. SpectraSensors' tunable diode laser (TDL) analyzer, which is based on technology from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, uses a semiconductor-based laser that "emit near-infrared light at wavelengths that can be absorbed by the gas being measured (e.g. CO2, H2S, H2O, HCl)," the company said.
