ConocoPhillips: Hurricanes to Have Negative Q3 Impact of $200 Million

U.S. integrated oil company ConocoPhillips estimates that the effects of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike will negatively affect its third quarter after-tax earnings by $200 million. The company expects its refining margins to be down from the second quarter, except for the U.S. Gulf Coast, where higher September margins improved the quarter's margin to $14.70/bbl, compared to $12.11/bbl in the second quarter.
