IEA: OECD Gasoline Demand Fell 2% in May as Demand Surged in Non-OECD

Gasoline demand among member countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) fell 2% in May, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said in its latest Oil Market Report. The decline in gasoline demand and increase in distillate demand is an ongoing trend, although IEA reported last month that OECD gasoline demand actually rose 1% in April, compared to the same period last year (see OW 06/06/2008).
