API: U.S. Gasoline Demand Edges Higher; Production, Imports Jump in July

U.S. gasoline demand, as measured by deliveries, rose a modest 0.6% in July despite a decline in pump prices towards the end of the month, the American Petroleum Institute (API) said. Gasoline production at U.S. refineries showed about the same percentage gain - 0.7% - which helped push gasoline production to a record 9.325 million b/d.
