Environmentally-friendly pump range can cut costs

After recently securing ISO 14001 environmental certification at its European manufacturing centre, PCM Pumps Ltd, which is based in Corby, UK, has introduced a progressive cavity pump that, the company claims, can offer customers financial and environmental benefits. The EcoMoineau is compact and is more than 30% shorter than conventional PCPs, says PCM Pumps. According to the company, PCPs have always been fairly cumbersome pieces of plant compared with other pump types, for example, centrifugal pumps. In addition, there has to be sufficient space around traditional PCP installations for the removal of the rotor and stater. According to PCM, this is not required by the EcoMoineau, which can lead to savings in civil engineering costs through a reduction in the size of concrete plinths and buildings required.
