Water & wastewater: A new approach to system efficiency

It is argued that the cost of changes to pumps, controls, pipes and fittings may not be justified by the energy that is saved. However, the fluid-handling industry needs a method of measuring the efficiency of an entire pumping system, and one that quantifies the savings that can be achieved.
