RWE Power AG extracts some 100 mill t of lignite per year in three large opencast mines,viz.Garzweiler,Hambach and Inden,located in the Rhenish lignite mining area.As these mines are advancing,roads are significant obstacles to the development of operations.In order to ensure the progress of the mines and hence to ensure lignite mining,the roads must be relocated from the mining fields in good time and high-capacity diversions provided.
